Goat, a delicatessen…

Hello all! Now that I’ve been here in Lithuania for over a month, I’ve learned a lot of things. For instance, I will never pick up goat at the grocery store again. I now know the difference between goat and pork. (and if you’re wondering, I did not like it, at all) Some of my friends will be shocked to know some of the things I’ve eaten while here in Europe. Oh and I knew it was goat was because after i took a bite of it, and it tasted funny, I googled the words on the package (I know, I know, I should’ve done that first). I’m sure you can guess what I did with the rest of the meat on my plate. Yep, straight to the trash. Had to heat up some spaghetti I cooked the night before. But don’t worry about me, I’ve come a long way from my goat eating days. Now I can shop at the grocery store confidently. I can cook shrimp and veggies. Steak that actually taste good and doesn’t take me 3,000 chews before I can swallow it. Oh and my Snook would be proud that I attempted to make fried chicken. I can’t say that its a meal I would be proud to serve, still needs some work but I’m taking baby steps.

Hey, do you remember the plant that I previously talked about in one of my blogs? Well I named it my plant of life, because it was still growing and looking pretty without me doing anything to it such as watering it. Im sad to announce that my plant of life has died. It no longer has leaves or branches. I am telling myself that it passed away because the change of the seasons and not from neglect. I mean how can a plant of life die? It’s not possible. You agree right?

Well on other news, my team has still been struggling. We haven’t been able to win a Euroleague game yet, but its coming. We had a coaching staff change. Our former assistant coach is now our head coach and we have two new assistant coaches. (My team owner reads my blogs so “Hi Arvydas!”)

A lot of things are going on right now it seems, but adjusting is something I have to always dealt with in life so its not a big deal to me. Besides, when I look outside it makes me a feel a little at home because of how elaborate the Christmas decorations are. I love love love Christmas time. Giving presents might be one of my favorite things to do, but I never forget that Jesus is the reason for the season. Thats why we call it Christ-mas, duh. : ) I thought about starting a countdown for when I was going to come home for Christmas but countdowns make time go slower. Plus when you’re busy counting down to a certain date, you forget to enjoy the current days. And I know that things will go fast the closer I get to Christmas because my sister Nachette (pronounced Na-shay) and my niece Pooh Bear (Pooh like Winnie the Pooh) are coming all the way across the world in December to visit me. Then we are all going to fly back to America together on the Dec 21st.

Speaking of Christmas and presents, I have a new bag out that could be a cute Christmas present for someone. They are only $10 so maybe instead of a stocking you could pack the little what nots in that. Just an idea. (Click here to check out the new bag!)

A lot of people asked me what’s the first thing I’m going to do when I get back home to the States. My answer is hug everyone in my family for a loooooong time. My Diddy is going to kiss me on the check and then Im going to smile and wipe it off. (I always do that, love you Diddy) But as far as the first thing I’m going to eat. Well you will have to ask my Snook that because its whatever she decides to cook for me. She also told me that she’s going to freeze some food and send it with my sister when she comes. Did I ever tell y’all she’s the best? Because she is.

I have a confession to make to you all. Well actually I would like to admit an addiction that I have because I hear that’s the first step in recovery, so here goes nothing. I, Renee Montgomery, am addicted to Twitter. I was in denial for a long time, but I’ve come to terms with it. When I’m out and about and see something funny or crazy, the first thing I think of is that I need to take a picture of it so that I can post it on Twitter. If something strange happens, I instantly begin to think “How am I going to fit this whole story into 140 characters?” (Twitter only allows you to use 140 characters per message, which is crazy because who can explain a whole thought in that little amount?) They really make me become creative with the English language. For example; I hardly ever use vowels – girl = grl, boys = bys, happy = hppy. You get the point (= pt) right (=rt)? Ok I’m done with that, and its time for me to nap in between my first and second practice.

Food for thought.. You have no chance unless you take one. Until next time. Take some chances and be blessed.
